“The Christmas Message – HOPE”
Life is easier when you have someone to share it with. Difficulties aren’t so bad when you know they won’t last forever and burdens aren’t as heavy when you aren’t carrying them alone. Thousands of years ago the world was dark, dreary, and sinful. But there was a constant word about a coming Messiah – a Savior who would be called Immanuel – God with us!
Days were hard and difficult before Christ was born. Sin was rampant. People were evil and worshipping false idols. During these days God raised up prophets who proclaimed the coming of God’s Son. They didn’t know when, but they truly believed He would arrive. The HOPE they had was passed to others.
The messages of the prophets were the only hope people of that day had. Their words provided encouragement. Their messages were strong, and they believed what they were saying – “HOPE IS ON THE WAY!” Life WILL BE easier, ALL SINS can be forgiven, and NEVER AGAIN will anyone have to face hardships and difficulties alone!
Christmas always has been and always will be the MESSAGE of HOPE. Today we don’t have to wait for Jesus to come – HE’S HERE! The Savior has come and is seeking those without a relationship with Him. He came into the world for the purpose of dying on a cross carrying every sin you and I have ever committed. The gift of salvation is provided only through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. This is the greatest gift ever given for all mankind.
In the old days, not everyone believed the prophetic messages. Not everyone believes in the resurrection of Jesus today, but those who do are living with transformed lives. When they are alone, they know they aren’t alone. They believe the impossible is possible because of the empty tomb! Their God – our God is ALIVE!
The prophets of old provided hope to the world of a coming Savior. This Savior has come and offers to every unbeliever HOPE to have their sins forgiven. A life of peace and purpose as by faith their life is placed in His.
